    Role / Responsibilities

    The Business Development Senior Manager will support Jounce’s business development activities as well as corporate strategy.  This individual will mainly lead search and evaluation functions for all business development activities, including in-licensing, acquisition and investment, and support BD and R&D strategy as well as transactional activities at Jounce. The role will be working in a fast-paced biotech company in Cambridge, MA.  This position reports to Jounce’s Head, Business Development and Alliance Management.

     

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Working closely with the Head, Business Development and Alliance Management, leads a range of projects/activities that contribute to the execution of successful, high value BD transactions for Jounce
    • Lead sourcing and technical evaluation of external growth opportunities by proactively searching for emerging scientific areas and differentiated external assets and technologies, and working with cross-functional internal team and consultants
    • Organizes and project manages the search & evaluation process, leading due diligence process with internal and external input to support timely and effective transaction decisions
    • Works directly with BD counterparts at other companies to facilitate the partnering process, build relationships, and enhance Jounce’s reputation as a preferred partner
    • Conduct and support related competitive analysis and business/financial analysis to support the transaction process as a team member
    • As a BD team member, contributes to overall BD and R&D strategy by analyzing scientific and industry trends
    • Support potential strategic partnering activities for Jounce programs, generating BD materials and presentations, and coordinating due diligence by closely working with internal team

    Qualifications

    • Strong scientific background with good knowledge of drug discovery, development and commercialization processes
    • BD experience (search & evaluation) preferred
    • Cross-functional team leadership/project management
    • Strategic thinker and self-starter
    • Oncology/Immuno-oncology experience would be a plus, but not mandatory
    • 8+ years overall industry experience with 2+ years of BD related functions
    • BA/BS required.  An advanced technical degree, PhD, MD, or MBA preferred.
