    Role / Responsibilities

    Jounce Therapeutics is seeking an experienced, energetic scientist to contribute to the development of novel therapeutics in the field of cancer immunotherapy. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting multiple aspects of biomarker assay development, through the applications of  classic and novel histologic techniques, coupled with image analysis so as to better understand the tumor micro-environment. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, s/he will be expected to proactively interact with project teams and external collaborators to provide insights and hands-on support to advance programs forward.



    • Manage and execute the acquisition and analysis of histologic samples from internal and external groups.
    • Provide hand-on support for immunohistochemistry, RNA in situ hybridization and other tissue-based imaging assays to project teams and serve as dynamic subject matter expert.
    • Selective exploration of novel technologies that have the potential to advance programs forward.
    • Opportunity to manage and guide the development of SOPs, review and QC external vendor validation reports and provide input on SAP.
    • Work on improvement processes within the pathology group, such as enhancement of existing quantitative image analysis capabilities; multiplexed imaging workflow; training and developments of other scientists in the pathology group.


    • BS/BA life science degree with 5+ or MS life science degree with 3+ years of preclinical experience in pharmaceutical or biotech is required. Clinical-stage experience is preferred.
    • Experience and knowledge in histologic techniques, including the use of automated stainers, and imaging workflows are required. Digital image analysis experience is preferred.
    • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and excel in cross-functional, collaborative and fast-paced settings.
    • Experience in immuno-oncology and biologics is preferred.
